Queensland Road Safety Week 2024

This week, August 26-30, marks Road Safety Week in Queensland, an initiative led by QLD StreetSmarts with the theme, “We’re one team, Queensland. Let’s drive like it.”

At Acusensus, we’re proud to play a role in promoting safer driving across the state. Our Speed and Mobile Phone, and Seatbelt programs have contributed towards reducing road fatalities, including a notable 7.1% decrease in total crashes throughout 2023 compared to the year prior (source).

We’re especially heartened by the positive feedback from the Queensland community regarding our efforts. Our state-wide Speed program, which has been acknowledged by Transport Main Roads, is making a real difference in reducing speeding on regional roads—areas where crashes are more likely to occur than in urban settings. The impact of these efforts is evident, with a measurable decline in speeding offences since the program’s launch.
